Expectancy
By Lian Huang
(黄楝 原诗 黄楝 英译)
We stand in silence
And listen to the twittering spring rain
All our moods turns to a posture
Bearing mutual understanding
Neither of us want to make that statement
The Time is in a daze But at last
Your vague face with only slight melancholy
In my eyes Transforms to fluttering hair
Which paint the sky black
But I shed no tears
Really
Long before today I knew you would leave
'cause you said you were a cloud
The wind starts to blow
The flapping withered leaves be my heart
And I can no longer imagine how
I sang love songs in green keys before
The expectancy tide always floods in the early morn
weary and drowsy at noontime
Pillow on all I'm thinking of
And hear the cicadas laugh at me
saying silly, silly
The whole afternoon is a dreaming-of-you
The dusk is most beautiful
The setting Sun is as shy as a bride
Tacit night hangs that aged signboard
The pandemoniac lamplight gushes toward me
and sightsees the musing me
All the nights I miss you
Are sleepless nights
It is quiet and quiet all around
As if I'm the only one existing in the universe
The Sun's signs behind the black curtain
Are also heard distinctively
Autumn insects burst into chirping
Exclaiming to be lonely
My heartbeats call a name
A name
And a face with only slight melancholy
Keep on harassing my sleepiness
The night is gradually fading away
The chirping of the insects comes from afar
It's the beginning of another day
Where do you now stay?
