Lincoln's Anecdote
By Lian Huang
(黄楝
原诗 黄楝
英译)
The chamber witnessed a yesterday rain
It's said that it is a spring
A lone lotus is witheringly standing
All birds fly high
Lincoln is sitting accompanied
only by himself
Lincoln beholds the Constitution
of the new continent
smiles with a epiphany enlightenment
He takes efforts to recite
The Emancipation Proclamation of ??? and ???
Suddenly he is struck to remember Gettysbery
The woman's roaring like a lion
comes from a distance 'n besieged his ears
Lincoln puzzles why
Mrs. Lincoln is called The "First" Lady
Lincoln falls into missing
his mummy now with the God in heaven
Lincoln abruptly feels that he shares
the exigencies of the slaves in the south
who are expecting President Lincoln's
Emancipation Proclamation of ??? and ???
The crack sounds noisily in a certain theater
Ladies and Gentlemen
Turning away their attention from
the stage observe the panorama
Abraham Lincoln looking into the future
his holy complexion is like that of the prophet Abraham
He smiles with an epiphany enlightenment
